Spider season! Time to wash the house!

The spiders are out in full force this year!  It is that time of year when you walk out of your house and straight into a spider web that just wants to wrap itself around your face and get into your hair.  It takes forever to get it all off  and even when you do, you still feel like something is there. If you hate spiders, this is definitely not your time of year!

I have been snapping a few pictures here and there, and will post them for you spider lovers!

We are seeing these guys left and right.  I did a little reading and they are apparently a part of the orb weaver family.   Fall is mating season and they are strutting their stuff trying to set up the next generation.   I guess they are feeding on insects they catch as well.

They REALLY like to build their webs all around the house and they are very good at what they do.   Some of them hang out right in the middle of the web like these guys above, while others hide under the overhang and wait.

He just looks like he is waiting to create havoc in some poor souls life right?

This guy is a common garden spider but it is huge!  I found this one on my hat after I leaned into the bushes to hook up a hose when we were getting ready to pressure wash a home.  I walked him out to the woods and sent him on his merry way.

My great pictures and insightful scientific commentary aside, it is fall and time to start thinking about a house wash.  Pressure washing your home here in the Raleigh, Cary and Wake Forest area is a great way to get rid of all the spider webs, cob webs and general dirt and mold build up that has been accumulating over the spring and summer.
